I have spent a lot of my life in and out of gyms working and training. I have also run my own postural corrective clinic working alongside an osteopath. Today due to personal, financial and economic circumstances I drive buses for a living and work part time in the health and fitness industry. My passion however for looking after myself and helping people has not faded. I continue to upgrade my knowledge and put it into action. It is this - putting into action - part that I'm intending to share with those who are searching for health improvements in the hope that it will help them with their health goals.
The thing about driving buses is that a lot of your time to taken up by the job. Here's a typical week, Monday - 04:22-15:58, Tuesday - rest day, Wednesday - 08:15-19:15, Thursday - 08:15-19:15, Friday - 05:57-18:05, Saturday - 06:52-17:28, Sunday - rest day. Based on these shifts you can see it is difficult to look after yourself in the manner you would like. However we all have to earn our living. Everyone's work presents them with different challenges to getting things done. We can't just keep complaining and doing nothing, we have to find a way within our schedule to do the things we need to do to keep us healthy. It is my hope that sharing my experiences will help others achieve their health goals.
The health industry, through various books and the worldwide web provides a wealth of information about what to do to improve our health. For example when it comes to losing weight it's fair to say that most people know more or less what they need to do to shed a few pounds. And if they're not too sure there are lots of resources they can call upon. It's also fair to say that many of these ideas about what to do could do with some tweaking here and there however in the main we are sorted as far as information is concerned. The problem comes when this same information has to be translated into action.
Let's take a simple idea; running is good for losing weight. The wide recognition of this idea is evident, particularly whenever there's a sunny day when many people seeking weight loss take to the roads and parks.
Let's take an example of food. Most people know that eating sugary foods is not good for us if we want to lose weight. There are hundreds of books, resources from various experts telling us so. However putting this into action when we are surrounded by sugary foods is very hard. Add onto this the fact that many people don't know how to cook the kinds of meals that will ensure that they have a healthier life and often feel they don't even have the time to prepare them or learn the skills needed.
It is this "putting into action" that I feel is the missing link for us when it comes to getting things done. I'm hoping that by sharing my experiences with all their ups and downs, this will help inspire others to achieve their goals.
I look forward to sharing with you all through our blog, twitter, Facebook page and group.
MAY ALLAH (SWT) GRANT YOU ALL THE BEST OF HEALTH.
